Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use the Star I/O website. This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
What we do
- Text and buttons meet or exceed WCAG contrast (most text is 7:1 or higher).
- Every image has a text description; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The site works with a keyboard alone: visible focus outlines and a "skip to content" link.
- Forms have visible labels, and errors are announced to screen readers.
- Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages work when zoomed to 200% and on phones without sideways scrolling.
Known limits
Star I/O itself is a fast real-time 3D strategy game. Parts of the game rely on seeing the battlefield and on quick touch or mouse input, so the game may not be fully usable with a screen reader or by everyone. We are working to improve this — for example, readable text sizes, colour choices that do not rely on colour alone, and a calmer game speed.
